Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Barrel sample - 2012 was one of the finest vintages Ontario has seen and this Cabernet Sauvignon shows just how great that vintage was!

Great concentration of ripe dark fruit, with a touch of tawny port on the nose. Long tawny port and blueberry finish. Outstanding vintage, a wine I'd recommend buying by the case to enjoy over the next 5-10 years.

Tasted November 2013.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Nov 4, 2013: Barrel tasting from Lailey's 2012 Futures Offering. Deep garnet purple and a fantastic nose of deep fruit, cassis, cherry, spice, floral note, leather and vanilla. Very ripe fruit on the palate, hint of smoke and woodspice carried by a backbone of firm tannins and acidity. The fruit comes from Lailey's oldest block over thirty years of age. This has the potential to be a stellar wine and should sail through to the next decade after bottling and release. 91+
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From November 13 Barrel tasting. A magnificent Cabernet Sauvignon from Ontario. 2012 was very kind to Niagara and this wine is a fine example.
Plush dark cherry and plum, dried fruit and herbs, oak, leather.
Decant if drinking now. This beauty will age over the next 10+years easily.
