Châteaux Vieux Chevrol 2016 is an elegant and vibrant red wine blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Look for lush dark plum, red and dark berry, cassis, fine herb flavours rich and savoury on the palate. Tannins are medium and fine. Pour with a grilled sirloin steak topped with sautéed mushrooms.

Food pairings: roast beef, pork tenderloin, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is an elegant wine, as you might expect of one with Pomerol in its AC. The nose has enjoyable layers of dark plum, fresh raspberry and hints of cinnamon. It is lively on the palate thanks to a tartness reminscent of cranberry and a good acid seam. Fruit is reserved with savoury hits and a touch of mint. All nicely balanced and integrated. Tannins are still very much in play but they are fine. Good length rounds out an enjoyable pour. Enjoy with lamb or roast beef or, dare I say, roast turkey with all the trimmings!
