Juicy and mouth-watering with lots of acidity for tangy tomato dishes. On the nose, black cherry and mocha. This wine was aged for 24 months in oak barrels, and another 3 months in bottle.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Lots of ripe cherry, blackcurrant and vanilla with a hint of violet on a flavourful palate with mouth-watering acidity. Make your favourite pasta in tomato sauce and enjoy!
Tasted Feb. 2017
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I thought this was a terrific value wine. Starting to show some age; brickish tinge. Lovely nose of sweet cherry, violet, subtle earth and leather. Polished tannins. Everything is in harmony. Enjoyed a glass with dinner (smoked pork tacos) and then another glass on the deck after. Tasted July 2017
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An easy going, food friendly, medium-bodied Chianti with dominant notes of cherry, dried sage, flinty minerality flavours. Textures are layered with balanced acidity, dusty integrated tannins, and a long tangy finish. Pair with Arancini (Italian rice balls) and marinara sauce. Tasted Mar 2017 - @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
This Chianti Classico from the Tuscany wine region is floral and earthy with a blackberry nose. The wine is intense, well structured and with good acidity to fruit and a perfect pairing to a rich tomato sauce dish. - Community Wine Reviews
