Reviews and Ratings

Drink Wine and Giggle Gals rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

The Drink Wine and Giggle Gals like to take turns selecting wine for the dinner table. On this occasion, Deb selected Apothic Red 2011 from California because she had just run a marathon and played a round of golf and was in the mood for something bold. Lynne pointed out that "apothic" has echoes of apothecary, an antique word for pharmacist. Julie noted that, based on its strong cherry notes, Apothic Red did taste a bit medicinal, like extra strength cough syrup. Deb agreed and added she could take this medicine because it has a surprisingly silky finish.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
