Lovely balance in this vibrant, fully-alive, juicy red. It's full-bodied but not heavy: nicely balanced. Aromas of fleshy blackberry and black cherry aromas, with a pleasing, mouth-watering finish that makes you want more.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: hamburgers, steak, stew.

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The 2011 Wente Cabernet Sauvignon Southern Hills, aged in American, French and Eastern European Oaks for 14 months, has intense aromas of blackberry, black cherry, black currant and vanilla on the nose and figs, oak and vanilla on the palate. It is a medium to full bodied, extra-dry, fruity to integrated wine, with checked acidity, refined tannins and a long and smooth finish. It is food friendly or enjoy it as a sipper; drink now to 2020+. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 89-90 pts – recommended buy based on quality to price ratio. Tasted at Churchill Cellars Portfolio tasting May/13.
