Reviews and Ratings

Dark chocolate and sweet black fleshy plums on the nose with a pleasant zing of acidity mid-palate for lots of dishes from tangy meat sauces to grilled meats. More black fruit and mouth-filling roundness. A consistently good producer at fair prices for the quality. Highly recommended. This Australian red wine is a regional blend of Shiraz grapes of about two-thirds Clare Valley and one-third McLaren Vale regions. The wine was partially cold-soaked for 4 days, then aged in 100% new American oak barrels for 11 months. Deeply concentrated and flavoured. MINE: Wakefield Jaraman (2015) is a zesty, full-bodied, Shiraz from Clare Valley wine region in South Australia. This Australian red wine is a regional blend of Shiraz grapes of about two-thirds Clare Valley and one-third McLaren Vale regions. The wine was partially cold-soaked for 4 days, then aged in 100% new American oak barrels for 11 months. OTHER: Wineboy rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review: Lovely complex nose of berries and spice/oak. The fruit more than matches the oak on the palate. A kiss of sweetness through the long finish. More power of flavours than expected for the price. OTHER: Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Shows plum, raspberry, spice aromas, then the palate bursts into spicy raspberry/plum flames. Dry with good acidity. A super match for barbequed ribs. Tasted May 2017. OTHER: Simon Chen rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: I love the perfumed nose but the wine is too jammy and high alcohol for me. OTHER: Opaque color. Aromas and flavors of ripe mulberries and blackberry cream, planked oak, black pepper, and turned earth with an crisp, dry full body and a compelling, swift finish with earthy, woody tannins and moderate oak. An excellent example. Gold Medal. Exceptional. Score - 91 (tastings.com, Oct. 18, 2016). - Community Wine Reviews

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
