From Bodegas Muriel, Viña Muriel Gran Reserva 2010 is so fragrant with figgy, leather, dried tobacco leaf and toffee-vanilla aromas on the nose. This wine has aged well and it is just as lovely and inviting on the palate with ripe dark fruit compote, grilled herbs, coffee, vanilla and savoury spices finishing long and velvety with good acidity. A classic to pair with a roast shoulder of lamb, smoked and braised meats.

Food pairings: veal roast, pork tenderloin, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lovely wine showing some mature hints and tons of flavour. Aromas of dried cherry and raisin hints, along with hints of warm leather, rounded baking spice, and a hint of tobacco and smoke. Full bodied, with dusty, medium tannins, and some bright acidity. Fruit notes on the palate are ripe, dried, and even have a hint of tartness, overlla very interesting and lively. This wine has a lenghty finish with notes of vanilla, spice, and smoke. Enjoy with a prime rib roast.
