Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Many of you who are familiar with my reviews know that I don't review many white wines as I don't like many of them. I also am the type of wine drinker who appreciates a white wine in warmer climates and believing that if I don't have anything good to say then don't say it....white wines are not often reviewed.
For those of you following my blogs, you are aware that recently I visited a vine yard on my doorstep. Well...after trying this white wine, I shall be returning very soon!

Let's cut to the chase, this wine blew me away! It is $15.55 of pure delicious nectar! No, not just a so so wine, this wine is as good as some of the Californian whites I have tasted for almost double the price. In the middle of winter I was cooking a seafood dish that called for white wine and so , well ...in went William 2012.... I took a sniff....impressed, I took a sip....oh boy...this was truly delicious. Suddenly images of sitting around the pool sipping this white wine by the case full was truly not that far fetched!

It's a wonderful pale yellow in colour. On the nose it is light and fruity with pear and maple caramel tones.
On the palate there was a lively refreshing acidity. Citrus fruits came through with a delicious dry energy and then a delicious butter caramel note. There is a short finish but this only leaves you wanting to ur more!
Congratulations Rivière du Chêne.....I'll be back for more!

Bottoms up!

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
