TERROIR SERIES / SINGLE VINEYARD / The Trapiche Terroir series of wines are made from several wineries around the Mendoza wine growing area. Their 2013 Terroir Series Orellana De Escobar is an elegant wine now and could cellar for a half-dozen years or more. This benchmark single vineyard Argentine red wine made from the iconic Malbec grape features aromas of blackberry, smoke, spice and anise. Luxuriously layered and rich with a thick mouth-coating texture and weight of flavours. A hint of mint on the nose wrapped on ripe black fruit, then a coffeed-espresso finish. Such a wonderfully unusual and decadent wine. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with game meats and great conversation. Superb craftsmanship. MINE: Trapiche Terroir Series 2013 is single vineyard, full-bodied Malbec red with smoky spice, anise, blackberry, espresso and a hint-of-mint flavours on the palate. Superbly done. Decant one to two hours prior to serving and pair with game meats, or cellar for five years. The Trapiche Terroir series of wines are made from several wineries around the Mendoza wine growing area. OTHER: A tight and powerful red with lots of blueberries, burnt orange peel and violets. Multifaceted. Full body, long, polished tannins and a fresh and vivid finish. Drink or hold. Score - 96 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, March 27, 2019). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
