This BC red wine is made from Cabernet Franc grapes grown in the winery's Rock Pocket Vineyard and North Bench Oliver vineyards. Smoky, dark and savoury with charred black fruit and toasty oak. Pair with a rare steak. Decant 2 hours.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: Herb encrusted roasted pork and roasted potatoes..

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

My favourite wine of Townships selection. Sometimes, Cabernet Franc is called "the great red hope" in Niagara. There's also plenty of potential in BC, evidently.
Aged in a mixture of French and American oak for a tremendous amount of time for a Cabernet Franc - 24 months. It somehow manages to carry it.
Deep ruby red.
This beauty has loads of ripe red fruit to the aromas and the palate. Charcoal, cedar, and vanilla from all the oak. The heavy oak blows off, and reveals the red fruit a little better.
Lots of red and brambley dark fruit, red apple and coffee.
This is a fun grape varietal that often gets overlooked for its more commonly grown progeny - Merlot and Cab Sauv. This wine is worth seeking out and could age for another 5 years, at least.
With fruit sourced from our Rock Pocket vineyard in North Bench Oliver, this single vineyard Cabernet Franc has beautiful aromas of black cherry, caramel and graphite while displaying red fruit and savoury spice flavours with a silky texture and supple mouthfeel. A classic Loire Valley grape that is proving its mettle here in the Okanagan Valley, we love the structure and delightful raspberry and black currant notes on the palate with just a hint of delicate violets on the nose.

Produced solely from the Rock Pocket Vineyard, as its name suggest the stony soils add minerality and complexity to the wine with the stones assisting with ripening, retaining the sun’s heat throughout the cool September and October evenings. This allows us to hang the fruit longer and achieve maximum flavour. A medium bodied, well balanced wine, this Cabernet Franc was aged in French and American oak barrels for 24 months.
