Smoky and dark yet elegant. Brooding black fruit on the nose. Underneath and on the palate there's a sensual layer of black fleshy ripe fruit and dark spices. Oh yes! Classic Amarone with some violets and black cherry liqueur on the finish. Best consumed with hearty meat dishes and conversation.

Amarone Della Valpolicella food pairings: borscht, beef, lentil patties, osso buco.

Reviews and Ratings

Marco Giovanetti rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

Black cherry compote with wild raspberry jam. Perfume of wild herbs, violets and garrique flowers. Rich and velvety. Profound flavours of sultana raisins, currants, pipe tobacco. Juicy with cashmere tannins. Medium to long finale. Overall a very elegant wne.
Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Amarone, the 'bad boy' of the wine world based on it's heady combination of extraordinary fruit concentration and high alcohol. This one, from small, artisan producer Tommasi is powerful yet balanced. A must-try experience of pure plums, raisins, chocolate and leather.
