Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Foreign Affair Winery is the pioneer in appassimento winemaking in Canada. After tasting the 2012 Dream, it's clear they're mastering this fine winemaking art. Made in a similar way to Amarone, but using Bordeaux varietals, it's a noble blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, that results in an absolutely lovely and layered Amarone-Bordeaux aroma profile. The natural drying of the grapes produces such interesting sweet fruit aromas and flavour profiles, words don't quite do it justice, one must enjoy for themselves. Plums, black cherry, currants, blueberry, and dark chocolate, to name a few, on the palate. Very well balanced, very well made. Enjoy now with rich Italian cuisine. Tasted January 2015. 93 points. Claria Calderone rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

My Favourite at Taste Ontario 2016! The name caught my attention, which then transcended into a memorable experience. On the nose the wine is sweet with a swift of vanilla. On the palate I believe is the vanilla flair, which is smooth, that creates such a silky finish. Not very acidic, which makes it the more pleasurable. There are cherry flavours on the palate which are added for the right touch. Very enjoyable wine.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
