Reviews and Ratings

A benchmark Californian Cabernet Sauvignon from the heart of Napa Valley. This stunning red wine offers layered complexity and flavour. Aromas of ripe blackberries mingle with cedar. Great length, depth, balance and savoury character. This towering Californian red wine is an excellent cellar candidate. It also makes for a superb dinner party wine, but don't just save it for then. Serve it tonight with a well-seasoned pepper steak. MINE: The 2012 vintage of this stunning Cabernet Sauvignon Estate The Leap was matured 20 months in 50% new French oak barrels. This wine is a blend of the most expressive barrels from select blocks on the Stags' Leap estate vineyards, with well-draining soils that produce wines with a long life. Stags' Leap Estate The Leap (2012) is vintage Californian. This is a big wine that can leap through any barbequed steak you can throw at it. Although wine grapes have been growing at the Stags' Leap Estate since the late 1800s, the estate is a working range that also grows fruit orchards, nuts and olives. OTHER: Lushly rich on both the nose and the palate, this wine from the heart of the appellation is etched in chocolate and cedar, showing a ying-yang pull between savory and sweet. Currant and dried herb season chalky, firm tannin and toasted oak. Score - 91 (Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast, Feb. 1, 2017). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
