Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Vanessa Vineyards are located on 75 acres of sloping west to southwest vineyards in the Similkameen Valley. This is rocky terrain and the vineyards are literally carved out from stone. It works well for the Syrah and Merlot grapes that make this rosé, loving the heat from the rocks during the summer days and cooler nights with the overall benefit of a long and even ripening season. The wine blend is 68% Syrah and 32% Merlot and what an incredible vibrant colour of claret - it’s a beauty to look at. This is a hardy rosé, can easily be paired with roast rack of lamb or wild mushroom stuffed quail. It is dry with .8 grams/litre of residual sugar. This is an important factor as more and more people are searching out rosé on the dryer side. The nose is delicate with ripe cherries, red currant and dusty florals. On the palate, the wine is lively with ripe red berries persistent on the mid-palate, a touch of white pepper spice, finishing lengthy with zesty citrus and balanced minerality. Serve this rosé slightly cooled. It is a spritely rosé with red wine character.
