A great combination of ripe blackberry and black plum fruit, along with fresh herbs, fresh tobacco, bittersweet chocolate and hung meat notes. Perfect for food, but avoid the grill as the bitter notes might bounce off grilled meat. 90 Points.

Intense mocha aromas hit you initially but after moments in the glass ripe black berry, cherry, vanilla and milk chocolate notes come through as well. The palate shows clean moderate intesnsity black fruit, mocha, cedar and tobacco flavours. The acidity is moderate, tannins are grippy, body is medium-full and finish is long. Pair this wine with a yummy wood-fired oven Neopolitan style pizza. Tasted Nov 2015.

This Ripasso presents aromas of dark fruit, mocha, tobacco and savoury spice. Medium-bodied with velvety tannins and flavours of plum, mocha and tobacco. Pair with root vegetables or mushroom risotto. Tasted November, 2016.

Alex: A dense Ripasso, with prosciutto and potpourri on the nose, date squares, and baked bing cherries. Quite full for a ripasso and very plush, with some herbal-sour notes on an otherwise very fruity, low acid palate. Stylistically closer to amarone than valpolicella, but I'd prefer freshness over size. And a bestseller this is, so most aren't with me in that camp. 85pts
Priya: Well I've never tasted baked bing cherries so I have no idea how to comment on that but I do get the prosciutto reference. I also agree that it's full and plush, those sound like good things to me! I quite enjoy this, lots of flavour and not a lot of tannins. That's my kind of wine. 88pts
