Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Beautiful rose notes on the nose with some pretty outstanding earthy notes that promise a great complexity on the palate. Translucent in appearance, as is typical with the Nebbiolo grape variety. On the palate there are red fruit notes, earthiness, and a good acidity that will work well with a variety of dishes. It is medium bodied, even though the tannins do bring boldness to the experience. These evident tannins could benefit from decanting the wine for at least 30 minutes before enjoying, which will soften them. Still drinks young, but shows a lot of promise: If you have the patience, let it sit in your cellar - I guarantee it will get better and better with the years!
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Raspberry leads on the nose and subtly carries to the palate. Rich and refreshing but with firm, grippy tannins that take hold on the finish. Medium to full -bodied. Cellar until 2021 or so and then serve with spicy pasta or osso bucco. Tasted August 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
From the Piedmont wine region, Rizzi 2015 is a fragrant and juicy Barbaresco with blue florals, baking spice and earthy aromas on the nose. Juicy with dark cherry, savoury herb, citrus zest and spicy flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm, fine and there is great acidity for food on this full-bodied red. Decant for one hour and pair with a game roast. Good now, better in 2022. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
