A terrific, edgy Niagara red wine blend of Cabernet and Merlot. Aromas of dark berries. Pair with grilled hamburgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Blended from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Pondview Cabernet Merlot Reserve 2016, from Niagara on the Lake, offers aromas of black plum, dark cherry, bell pepper, clay dust and cedar. Full bodied, with tannins that pair nicely with a long finish. It evolves into a charming cruise in the palate with black currant, dark plum, black pepper, truffle and cedar. Once again, a well made wine from the Niagara region. Pair with pasta or cheese. Enjoy.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This blend of cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot was crafted in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula appellation. In the 2016 vintage, dark fruit and dark chocolate aromas led to berry, cherry and cedar flavours. All supported by supple tannins through the mid-weight palate and lengthy finish. Enjoy.

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas are fruit forward with stewed strawberry, vanilla and sweet cedar. Flavours are drier than perceived with elements of raspberry jam, chocolate, green peppercorn and fresh thyme. Tannins are silky and complement the medium body and well balanced acidity with a hint of earl grey tea lingering on the finish. A perfect burger wine! Cheers
