Reviews and Ratings

Meg Charette - WSET ADV rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

This excellent Syrah was aged in bottle for 2 and a half years. Aged for 18 months in 30% new oak, 80% of the new oak was French and 20% was American. The remaining 70% that was not aged in new oak, was in French oak. Fully developed aromas and tasting notes are both complex, pronounced, and dominated mainly by tertiary notes such as, a savory gaminess, smoked hickory, tar, sponge toffee, and a hint of coffee bean. The fruit found on the nose and palate still seem to fall into the tertiary category, being dried cranberries and intensely cooked blackberries. The mouthfeel is full bodied, dry, high acidity, high tannins, and high alcohol. There is also a touch of black pepper found on the palate. Long finish of dried cranberries, smoked hickory, with lingering black pepper.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
