Love, love, love Osoyoos Larose Le Grand Vin. The 2017 is a flavoursome, medium-plus-bodied Bordeaux-style blend of 61.4% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7.6% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec aged 12 months in French oak barrels (60% new). Fresh on the nose with ripe cassis, blueberry, dry and juicy with dark berries, blueberry, dark cherry, savoury herb and toasty oak spice all beautifully-balanced with natural acidity. The 2017 can easily cellar for several years.

Food pairings: filet mignon, pork tenderloin, pizza, pasta, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Beautiful! A lovely Bordeaux-style blend of 61.4% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7.6% Petit Verfot, and 5% Malbec. Aromas of black plums, blueberry and raspberry, along with notes of tobacco, cedar, warm spice, leather, and graphite. Dry on the palate, full bodies, with some lovely balancing acidity and smooth tannins. Flavours on the palate include lots of rich dark berry notes, and a balanced hint of of smoke, cedar, and spice. Enjoy with any grilled meats.
Osoyoos Larose Le Grand Vin 2017 is just a beautiful, flavourful, medium-plus-bodied red wine blend of 61% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance in Petit Verdot and Malbec. Elegant and harmonious with earthy florals, rich cassis, dried wild herbs, flint, vanilla and toasty oak spice flavours concentrated on the palate. Delicious now and can easily cellar for five or more years. - Community Wine Reviews
