Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From Rollingdale Winery in the Okanagan Valley, B.C., something new in port-style wines. Fort (2016) is made from the winery’s certified organic estate-grown Marechal Foch red wine grapes. This fortified dessert wine is lush with ripe mulberry, blueberry on the nose and you know it’s going to be sweet. And it is, but nicely so. On the palate, it is ripe blueberries, sweet black cherries, dark plum and dark chocolate syrup wrapped up in a zesty acidity, finishing long with ripe black cherry and dark chocolate flavours. We also found that the more time we gave it to breathe the more the fruit nose and flavours developed. This fortified wine is quite smooth even at 21.4% abv and the 200ml format is just perfect for an after-dinner treat. Pair with dark chocolate studded with cocoa nibs, or dark chocolate with dried cranberry and blueberry fruit. For cheese lovers, we suggest a double crème blue cheese. Another suggestion for Fort was to create a sparkling wine cocktail for the holidays. Great price point of $20. Well done!

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
