Price: $35.20

Drink: 2011-2015

Bottle size: 750 ml

Alcohol: 11.5%

Sweetness: Extra Dry

Wine Type: Red Wine

Agent: Hardie Wines

Natalie's Score: 90/100

Vintages Wine Panel: Medium purple in the glass. Pretty floral, sandalwood, earth and raspberry aromas. Very youthful yet. Dry, light bodied, and exquisitely elegant with tightly knit tannins bringing structure. Complex, medium-long finish. Promises to be an excellent food wine. Cellar it for 2-3 years, or enjoy tonight. My note: Cherry-beetroot with tart edges. I like Norm’s style. He’s working his way to pure genius. Dark spices on the finish with some pleasant sour cherry. Vote Norm!

Pinot Noir food pairings: herbed veal cooked rare.

Reviews and Ratings

Ryan Hindmarsh rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I have nothing funny to compare this wine to. This is hands-down one of the best Pinot's I have tasted from Ontario. Well done Norm. Take this to dinner when you come to my house!!
Corinna Horton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Earthy, tart, with bold fruit, yet stunningly fresh. The complexities of this wine boggle the taste buds. As it opens it creates new flavour in soul of the mouth; first floral, then cherry, finally beet. Hardie makes some beautiful Pinots, don't waste a drop.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Top notch Pinot Noir from the County. Red cherries, sweet earth, beetroot, and dried currants dance on the nose and palate. Pair with grilled Sockeye salmon. Still willing to side with Central Coast California Pinot at this price. 89 points. (ottawawinejournal.com)

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
