Natalie's Score: 91/100

The robust 2016 vintage of Mission Hill's Shiraz is an 87% Shiraz, 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Viognier wine blend. Aromas of fleshy ripe blackberry, raspberry leaf, dried fruit, rich plummy and mocha flavours finishing with a smatter of pepper spice on the palate. Wine grapes are hand-harvested from select blocks within the estate vineyards. Decant for one hour prior to pouring with a rare steak or hold in cellar for five years.

Shiraz food pairings: slow-cooked beef ragĂș, lamb cutlets, espresso and cocoa-rubbed flank steak, black bean soup.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
