Full-bodied and plush with lots of mocha and chocolate on the nose from oak aging. The LENS region (Lake Erie North Shore) of southwestern Ontario enjoys a long growing season that helps to develop richer flavours in the grapes. Pair with a grilled steak.

Syrah food pairings: lamburgers, beef Wellington, sautéed pork tenderloin with wild mushrooms.

Reviews and Ratings

From Lake Erie North Shore wine region (LENS), Mastronardi 2016 is a zesty, full-bodied Syrah with ripe berry, dark fruit, dark chocolate, toast and smoked meat flavours on the palate. Tannins are soft and this flavoursome red is very approachable now. LENS has a long growing season allowing grapes to develop and ripen. Pair this one with slow-roasted beef ribs. - Community Wine Reviews

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
