Lovely, medium-bodied Niagara red wine made from the Gamay grapes. Aromas of ripe black cherry and dark berry on the nose of this juicy, lip-smacking delicious, cool-climate wine. Supple and smooth. Pair with roast chicken or turkey.

Gamay food pairings: grilled salmon, antipasto plate, meaty tomato based pasta.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Consistently delicious year after year. Aromas of strawberry, black cherry, black pepper and some earthy notes. Medium bodied, lots of ripe cherry and raspberry on the palate, and a bit of a spicy finish. This would pair well with a range of foods, enjoy with pork, chicken, grilled vegetables or salmon.
Lynn Van Der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A bright and lively Gamay! Invigorating aromas of sweet cherries, violets and a hint of vanilla carry through to a spicy cherry finish.
A beautiful expression of Gamay, from the Niagara region that does it best!
Tasted March 2020.

Love this black cherry-flavoured, medium-bodied and juicy Gamay from the Niagara Peninsula, Ontario wine region. Malivoire 2017 is a great value Gamay under $20. On the nose, there are black cherry, raspberry, floral and herbal aromas. Dry, fresh and juicy on the palate with ripe raspberry, red plum and red cherry fruit flavours with a smattering of herbs and white pepper spice on with palate. Chill slightly and enjoy with a charcuterie and cheese platter. This vintage was awarded Gold at the 2018 National Wine Awards of Canada. - Community Wine Reviews
