Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I've been following the work of winemaker Ilya Senchuk for several years, and he consistently does a great job with expressing 'terroir' (sense of place) in his wines. This wine has quite a good representation of what our cool climate can produce - a dry Riesling that has notes of granny smith apple and lime rind. Fresh and crisp, it is quite a mouthwatering Riesling that I am happy to revisit again and again! Get your hands on it soon, as Leaning Post is a boutique winery and doesn’t produce many cases for public consumption.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Petrol greets you on the nose with notes of honey. Despite the honeyed aromatics it is dry, with some savoury notes on the palate and well balanced. Serve with pecorino cheese drizzled with honey. Tasted August 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment wine region, Leaning Post Wismer-Foxcroft Vineyard 2016 Riesling is bright and fragrant with green apple, fresh pear and white floral aromas on the nose. Smooth and vibrant on the palate with clean bright apple, pear and mineral flavours on the palate. Enjoy now and for the next five years. Pair with schnitzels and fried fish dishes. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
