Pale- to medium salmon in colour, with a slight orange hue.

Nose of wild strawberries, crabapple, mandarin, and a slight whiff of forest floor adds complexity.

On the palate lots of fruit, but balanced with savoury notes: strawberry, cranberry, rhubarb, candied orange peel and even a hint of green olive. Medium-plus finish ends with a savoury and salty note.

This is a flexible rose for a variety of dishes. (Blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc.)

Good value for the quality.

The 2018 version of rose from Leaning Post Wines is predominantly Pinot Noir with the balance split equally between Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon (71/14.5/14.5). This dry, crisp, and fresh rose is brimming with cherry, berry, and red fruit aromas. There is a touch of floral and dried herbs in the mix as well. Supremely refreshing, this is a frequent accompaniment to goat cheeses and sea salt crackers on sunny days in the backyard.

A refreshing extra-dry rosé, showing complex notes of strawberry, raspberry, rhubarb, herbs and slight florals. Good mid-palate weight. Perfect for sipping on the patio and pairing with a variety of foods, from savoury olives and charcuterie to Mediterranean fare.

I discovered this winery at the Taste Ontario event in Ottawa April 3, 2019. I really enjoyed their rosé, predominantly pinot noir (71%). I would pair it in the summer with a pasta salad.
