Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Upon my recent visit to my local liquor commission the SAQ, I was introduced to "Festivino!"
The best of their Italian wines promotion. In particular a Chianti produced by Paula Papini Cook,
also from Montreal, she is fully responsible for the winemaking of the family estate at Le Miccine.

This wine is a clear cherry red in colour and I personally thought it was better after being decanted for at least 2 hours. This is a light and vibrant wine that went well with a luncheon I hosted. It paired well with the hearty Minestrone soup, pâtés, cold cuts, cheeses and melon and even carried its own into the mini fruit tarts. So a refreshing light wine.

On the nose there is fresh acidity, raspberries, red currants, orange peel and Cinamon.

On the palate Pomegranite, strawberries, and crab apple. There was a light woody hedgerow with an earthy mineral base. Slowly a mouthful of pepper spice stepped forward with a medium length tannin.

Bottoms up!

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
