Reviews and Ratings

L.J. Palmer rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A deep dark purple wine, dry, medium bodied with smooth tannins and a pronounced aroma of ripe blackberry, with black pepper, herbs and a floral note (violet). The blackberry, herb and spice notes continue to the palate. This wine is pleasant on its own but really shines with lamb chops grilled with black pepper and rosemary; the wine and food complement each other perfectly and enhance the taste of both wine and food. A real value find from the Northern Côtes du Rhône!
Cave De Tain's King In The North 2017 is a juicy Syrah from the northern Rhône that has earned its title. Lots of dark red cherry, fresh red berry, earthy violets and white pepper flavours on this generous, full-bodied red from a great vintage with grapes sourced from Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage and Cornas appellations. Tannins are smooth and silky. Good cellaring candidate. Pair with grilled lamb chops and game sausages. - Community Wine Reviews

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
