Kew Soldier's Grant 2018 is a well-priced Cabernet red wine blend from the Niagara wine region. Dry, medium-bodied and generous with blackberry, raspberry, dried sweet tobacco leaf, dried herbs and well-integrated oak spice flavours finishing long and harmonious on the palate. Tannins are fine and velvety. Drink or hold.

Food pairings: pork, grilled steaks, roast duck, veal roast stuffed with apricots and wild mushrooms, roast beef dinner, garlic and rosemary rubbed roast leg of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A delicious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

Very aromatic and complex. Ripe black fruit, tobacco, smoke and some spice on the nose. Flavours of blackberry and cedar. Soft tannins coat your mouth with a long rich fruit finish.

From the Niagara Peninsula wine region, a dry, medium-bodied 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Syrah and 22% Cabernet Franc red wine blend from Kew made in the Appassimento style and aged 18 months in French and American oak barrels. Richly layered with blackberry, red berry, tobacco leaf and dried herbs juicy and harmonious on the palate. Tannins are velvety. - Community Wine Reviews
