Dark fruit and mint aromas on the nose of this benchmark Australian red wine that are engulfed by a flood of fleshy blackberries aromas and flavours on the palate. Quite a pleasant sensation. Full-bodied and luscious Shiraz. Supple with a long finish. This wine would be terrific with hearty meat dishes. A toasty finish.

Shiraz food pairings: goose, black bean soup, pork with soy, pot roast, grilled tuna.

Reviews and Ratings

The Shiraz wine grapes for John's Blend Margarete's (2013) were sourced from four vineyards in the Langhorne Creek area with each harvest fermented separately. John Glaetzer is known for producing full-bodied, rich and intense Shiraz and this one does not disappoint with its lush blackfruit, blackberry flavours that finish spicy, toasty and long. Pair with a rare cut of beef grilled to perfection. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
