An attractive full-bodied red wine with smoky toasty oak and black fruit on the nose. Good price for the quality. Black raspberry and smokiness on the palate and finish inflected with black tea.

Petit Sirah food pairings: venison stew, cabbage rolls stuffed with veal, beef and pork, saddle of rabbit stuffed with apricots and apple.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lovely earthy underbrush, graphite minerality, Aussie licorice candy, and stewed plum aromas. Flavours are deeply concentrated and complex with stewed plum, cassis, vanilla and tanned leather notes. The 2014 Irony showcases a velvety smooth mouthfeel and mild "dusty tannin" texture and a long mouthwatering finish. Enjoy with gourmet blue cheese bacon burgers. This is a Petite Sirah red wine from Lodi, California. Ironstone (2014) is full-bodied and smokey with black raspberry and blackberry jam. Pair with a venison roast or bison burgers. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
