Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

I must admit that this was one of the wines I bought for the Christmas season, so I had high expectation for it being almost familiar of the taste of a Christmas pudding. I was not dissapointed. It was a higher priced wine to the ones I have been reviewing but there is always an excuse for a special occassion wine! I was not regretting one single penny!

I was relatively new to Amarone wines, but this one is definitely going on my list of favorites!
I felt like I was looking at a glass full of illuminating rubies, the colour was pure delight.
On the nose there was a presence of Raspberries but then creme de casis, strawberries and rich plump cherries.
On the palate there was full on fruit. Cooked plums, black currants, cherries made their presence initially, as the wine settled chocolate came through and then a subtle leather introduction with a touch of delicate spice. As the wine elongated violets and lavender made their introduction. It had a wonderful dry lengthy tannin.  It came to end all too quickly!

bottoms up!

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
