Hidden Bench's estate Pinot Noir comes from select parcels of the winery's three estate vineyards. Lovely on the nose with bright cherry, fresh herb and minerals aromas. Dry and juicy on the palate with vibrant ripe cherry, dried herbs, baking spice and clean mineral flavours on the palate. Great acidity for food. Pair with roast turkey or Cornish game hens.

Pinot Noir food pairings: veal medallions, lamb in a red wine sauce, roasted pork loin, Tourtière, prime rib roasted.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This Pinot Noir was captivating from pour to finish. Aromatically complex with candied cherry, cedar smoke and herbal notes like basil and oregano all emerged from my glass. Medium bodied with lightly tart red berry flavours, elevated acidity, velvety tannins and a lingering finish.

Another outstanding performance from Hidden Bench, this unfiltered pinot noir is certified organic by Pro-Cert and hails from Ontario’s Beamsville Bench appellation.

This delicious pinot was created by hand harvesting, fermentation with indigenous yeasts and non-interventionist winemaking techniques.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lovely! Aromas of dry and tart red cherry, a hint of cranberry and notes of forest floor, worn leather, and black peppery spice. Medium bodied on the palate with a hint of tannin, and bright acidity. Fruit hints are ripe with just a touch of tartnessm and the finish is soft and lengthy with more leather and dried herb notes. Enjoy with pan-seared duck breast.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The Unfiltered 2019 Pinot Noir from Hidden Bench, located in Beamsville Bench, offers aromas of wild berry, plum, dried herbs, potting soil, clove and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied, with grippy tannins and supple acidity, this delicious food-friendly wine should pair nicely with beef bourguignon. Palate: cranberry, tart cherry, rose, dried herbs, cocoa, spice and dark chocolate. Enjoy.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This medium bodied Ontario Pinot Noir is showing off its 'terroir' in a lovely combination of dried cherry, mushroom and forest floor. Nice fruit concentration on the palate. Pair with duck confit or smoked salmon. Tasted February 2020. www.thewineloverskitchen.com

Hidden Bench Estate Pinot Noir is and an organic, unfiltered, medium-bodied smooth and supple PN sourced from three organically grown, low yield, hand-harvested vines planted on the Beamsville Bench in the Niagara Escarpment wine region. Elegant and fresh with red cherry, fine herb, cinnamon and ginger spice flavours on the palate. Pair with grilled lamb lollipops. - Community Wine Reviews
