I find baco noir a hard wine to love but Henry of Pelham does it right: this is best of class. Brooding aromas of black and purple plum, blackberries and blueberries wrapped in smoke. Supple and full-boided. Could this be the ultimate hamburger wine?

Baco Noir food pairings: blackened, smoked beef dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Mark Britton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

2010 was a great year and this is one of the finest Baco's produced by HOP and in Niagara in general. It is smokey on the nose, but rich and elegant on the palate. It is much more complex than the Baco's from 2007-2009 and as such will age well for 2-4 years at least. An age worthy Baco at $25? That's a good buy.
Henry of Pelham’s Reserve Baco Noir is consistently among the best bottlings of the grape in Ontario. The 2010 is deep purple in colour with aromas of raspberry, black cherry, woodsmoke, mocha and bacon. It’s dry, medium-full bodied with generous dark fruit and smoky/spicy notes. Well-structured with crisp acidity and moderate chewy tannins. Cellar it 2-3 years or enjoy now. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
