Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This was one of my favourite wines from the All Canadian Wine Championships. A Gold Medal winner it is well deserved. There are pleasant notes of bell pepper and cedar on the nose, not overly green. There is a hint of sweetness on the palate. Overall it is smooth, with a hint of fruity freshness. Well balanced and pleasant. Long finish. Good match for burgers - beef or lamb. Tasted June 2018
Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I like this lighter style Cabernet Franc from Harper's Trail Estate Vineyards. Right from the top, the nose on the pale-ruby 2018 Cab Franc is fresh with ripe raspberry, bright cherry, fine herb and flinty aromas characteristic of Cab Franc. Dry and berry fruity with fresh raspberry, red currant, Rainier cherry, dried thyme, lavender herbs and flinty mineral flavours with a mouth-watering, medium-plus length finish on the palate. A great food wine. Pair with lighter fare like Margherita pizza, grilled chicken and herbed flatbreads. For something different and daring, we tried it with a piece of dark chocolate filled with dark chocolate mousse. Who knew? The creamy dark chocolate tamed the acidity of the wine and punched out the flavours of the dark chocolate mousse.

The Cab Franc grapes for the 2018 vintage were sourced from Thadd Spring Vineyards in the Thompson Valley.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
