Reviews and Ratings

Winemaker Gerard Bertrand loves the Mediterranean lifestyle. The vineyard for this wine lies between the mountains of Corbières and the lakes and beaches along the Mediterranean coastline in southern France. Gérard Bertrand's Fitou 2015 is a smoky, spicy and full-bodied red blend of Grenache and Carignan wine. MINE: Gérard Bertrand's Fitou 2015 is a smoky, spicy and full-bodied red blend of Grenache and Carignan wine grapes sourced from vineyards between the mountains of Corbières and the lakes and beaches along the Mediterranean coastline in southern France. The Fitou region has a wide range of micro-climates and soils. The wines from there are excellent value and have great agreeability. OTHER: Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Lovely and smooth. Aromas include raspberry, plum, smoke and black pepper. Full bodied with smooth tannin, and some bright acidity really punches up the red fruit on the palate. Nice long finish. Enjoy with prime rib! OTHER: Gérard Bertrand virtually spearheaded the drive for terroir-based expressions from the South of France. His efforts have redefined and revitalized the region's reputation and have catapulted places like Fitou to the fore of viticultural attention. Typically robust and generously fruity with spice and clove, Fitou's wines can age well and often need 3+ years after vintage to show their very best. They are often excellent value (Vintages Panel, updated). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
