This robust Californian white wine is a blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Riesling from the Central Coast region. The wine underwent a partial malolactic and barrel fermentation. Aromas of toasty oak and golden apples. Pair with roast chicken and family entanglements. As the back label reads for this marketing-driven wine branded with the HBO series "Game of Thrones": From the arid climate of Dorne to the lush vineyards of The Reach, the topography of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros is as diverse as the wine we produce. Against the backdrop of the ever evolving struggle for the Iron Throne and amidst the howling winds of winter, nobles raise their glasses and toast to luck in the wars to come.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The truth is in the eyes of the beholder. I'm swirling this deep lemon colour Chardonnay in the glass and watching the ever so slow legs catch the light, slowly making their way back to the golden abyss. This white wine is full-bodied and aromatic with familiar California Chardonnay notes of butter, nuts, toast, caramel, apple and tropical fruit. Additionally, I might add a waft of cool, salty Pacific Ocean breeze.
The palate is rich and voluptuous with the above aromas repeated in the mouth. Balanced, cleansing acidity primes the senses for another gulp! There's nothing ABC about this HBO #GOT white wine.

A little pricey at $30 but worth the splurge for the final season.

Paired well with Season 8, Episode 3 watch party.

Other pairing suggestions: Little chicken fingers, John Snow king crab legs, dragon egg salad sandwiches, and your own Game of Thrones watch party.

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A rich and buttery, full bodied and voluptuous Chardonnay experience. Approachable aromatics and palate. Love the limited edition golden labelling with an attractive bottle and a delightful golden juice within. Butterscotch, apple, vanilla bean. Yummy! Pair with opening credits of season 7 or save this one for a special occasion for your biggest fan and close friends. Tasted July 2017. 90 points. BespokeTastings
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A rich, buttery, voluptuous Chardonnay. Though not Dornish, this Chard hails from California's Central Coast AVA showcasing a feast of juicy citrus, melon, yellow delicious apple and toasted caramel corn notes. I am 100% positive that The Hound would pair this Chardonnay with roasted chicken, so that is my recommendation as well. Cheers to Season 7 and #DRINK!
