The Diamond Collection Black Label 2016, from Francis Ford Coppola is a very quaffable Cabernet from the Sonoma Valley. "Claret" was a term originally used to identify the wines of Bordeaux. The 2016 vintage is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Petit Verdot, 4% Petit Sirah. The wine was aged 14 months in French oak barrel and is ripe and intense black cherry, black currant and oaky flavours on the palate.

Claret food pairings: roast chicken, gourmet stuffed hamburgers, grilled pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Bob rated this wine as 98/100 with the following review:

About five or six years ago I had my first whiff of Francis‘ golden thread Claret. It simply popped … such a fine wine. I’ve favored it from the first.
“I love a whiff of Claret in the evening!”
Robert thanking Robert and Francis for those two fond memories.
From Francis Ford Coppola, the Diamond Collection Black Label 2016 is an easy-to-enjoy Cabernet from California's Sonoma Valley. "Claret" was a term originally used to identify the wines of Bordeaux. The red blend varies from year to year, but this vintage is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Petit Verdot, 4% Petit Sirah. The wine was aged 14 months in French oak barrel with a flavour profile of toasty oak, black cherry, cassis, anise and wrapped up in a whiff of smoke. Pair with a Black Angus grilled steak. - Community Wine Reviews
