Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Wow. The 2013 vintage really packs a serious punch. 14.7% ABV. Appasimento style Merlot, Cab Sauv, Cab Franc dominant, from partially dried grapes. Great concentration, depth of flavours and complexity. Well structured, dry, full bodied, tangy and chewy mouthfeel. Cherry, Cassis, evergreen resin. Wonderful pairing with braised beef lasagna. Drinking very well at present. 91 points #Bespoketastings
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Heavenly ripe rich full-bodied "passito-style" red blend hailing from the Niagara Peninsula with plum, black cherry, cassis, allspice, anise, and faint tanned leather notes. Tannins and smooth with a creamy mouthfeel, deeply concentrated ripe black fruit and balanced acidity. Enjoy with roasted beef tenderloin. Tasted Dec 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of dark berries, earthy beets, cedar, underwood, and a touch of black pepper and cocoa.

Flavours of black current jam with cocoa at the finish. The tannins are velvety and well integrated.

Tasted November 2017
From the Niagara Peninsula wine region, Foreign Affair's Dream (2013) is a red wine blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Some of the grapes were dried, as in the appasimento method of drying grapes and aged in barrel for over two years. The vineyard is located on a long narrow ridge of material deposited by the glacier that occupied the Lake Ontario basin approximately 13,000 years ago. - Community Wine Reviews
