From the Famille Perrin, La Gille 2019 is a full-bodied, elegant 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah red wine blend produced from grapes sourced in the Gigondas, Rhône Valley wine region. Vines grow in limestone, calcareous marl and sandy soils, giving the Grenache finesse and elegance. After the malolactic fermentation and blending, the wines were aged in oak foudres and barrels for one year. Fragrant on the nose with violets, anise, dark cherry, blueberry, rich dark fruits and cracked pepper flavours on the palate. Tannins are velvety. Pour with veal chops in a wild mushroom sauce.

Food pairings: roasted lamb, veal dishes, grilled pork chops, cheese.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
