An amazing value for this quality. Savoury, chewy and full-bodied southern French red wine from the Rhone Valley. Guigal is a terrific producer, and offers great value. Aromas of black plums, bacon fat and dark spice. Pair with hearty meat dishes especially a grilled steak.

Food pairings: grilled hamburger, barbecued lamb cutlets, pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A great value wine that tastes more expensive than it is. Lots of warm spice, black pepper and ripe plums and blueberries on the nose. Tannins are chewy, but smooth out after being open for a bit. Bright acidity. Overall, this wine is perfect to pair with a grilled steak or maybe a hearty braised beef dish.
