Full-bodied with toasty oak and a creamy texture from lees stirring and French oak fermentation (in barrel). Golden apple and baking spice. Pair with roast chicken: birds of a feather should flock together.

Chardonnay food pairings: Asian dishes with black beans, crab cakes, pasta with tomato sauce, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Napa Chardonnay was fermented in French oak barrels with less stirring of the lees. The result is a full-bodied Chardonnay with a subtle hint of yeast. It's creamy, buttery, spicy and rich with fruit components of Asian pear, peach and citrus. Medium(+) acidity is balanced and the finish is long and creamy. I'll say it, "YUMMY!" A perfect companion to roasted poultry or linguine with creamy seafood sauce. Aging potential.
Tasted: October 2015
The Californian winery Duckhorn has been producing wine since 1976, including Merlot, Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc. This particular Chardonnay was first made in 2012 and finished with butterscotch, oak and vanilla toast. - Community Wine Reviews
