Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Wow! And yum!

Years ago, Portugues wines got a slightly bad rap. They were never really that expensive and the ones I tasted way back then were not pleasant at all. I'm sure part if the issue was importing good Portugues wines as I knew they existed, I had had the pleasure to taste the first hand. Well I'm happy to report that over the last few years in my region of the world, the doors are opening up to more and more delicious Portugues wines and at a reasonable price too.
This is one of those wines I encourage you to try especially if you like full bodied power house of flavourfull wine with an incredible personality and wonderful fruit.

This is a rich dark purple wine, on the nose there are cooked plums, Cherie's, strawberries and a slight floral undertone of fruit.
On the palate, dark chocolate presented itself first, then a delicious array of red fruit, strawberries, red currants, cherries. The note turned very smoking room, pepper spice, leather, tobacco and then another quick burst of fruit again, cherries. There was a rather interesting chalky mineral undertone. The length was spot on for this style of wine, full bodied, dry, intense fruits and long tannins. Bravo!

Bottoms up!

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
