Mocha, espresso and dark plums on the nose. Lusciously smooth and full-bodied on the palate. More dark chocolate on the finish. This wine would be outstanding with a Mexican mole dish.

Garnacha food pairings: grilled lamb chops, wild game.

Reviews and Ratings

Mark Cochrane Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Impressive with it's rich dark fruit flavours and hints of clove. This is 100% from the Garnacha grape variety (related to Grenache) and was stored for 4 months in American oak barrels. I purchased 3 bottles for my cellar so I'll try another bottle in 2014 to see if the spiciness is still there
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

COTO DE HAYAS GARNACHA 2011 - A great wine from Spain! Beautiful aromas of spice, fruit and a hint of coffee. Full bodied wine with a long finish of fruit, chocolate and coffee.
88/100 - tasted August 2, 2013
Linda rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Cherry, plums, smooth, good with food and would be a good sipping wine since it had nice sweetness with a bit of spice. Would definitely buy again - ESP at the price. Excellent!!!
Made exclusively with Garnacha (aka Grenache), this wine features aromas of sour cherry, plum, raspberry, spice and oak. Dry and very concentrated with fine tannins bringing outstanding balance. A very tasty wine with a long and lively finish. Cellar it up to 4 years, but it is drinking brilliantly right now. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, July 2012
