Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine sparked intriguing curiosity from the moment I reached for it on its shelf. My resident sommelier raised his eye brows, tilted his head to the side and smiled with an "Oooohhhh !" I took this response as a good choice Julia!
Then I got to the cash and the cashier said " Wowwwwww!" with a smile, by now I had to pull the cork off from this baby!
Funnily enough, I saved this wine for several weeks before I opened it, shall I admit....I was nervous that I was going to be dissapointed!
This is definatly a full bodied wine that I think works better with food and for me mainly a tomatoe based meal. It has quite an iratic personality but that doesn't mean I didn't like, infact it caught my attention more, so smooth it isn't, but delicious it is! And one last wow! $17.95!

Dark purple in colour. On the nose the are red cherries, blue berries, creme de casis, strawberry jam, rose hip and cedar.
On the palate there are intense cooked fruits, plums, black currants, wild blackberries. Then Licorice punches forward and then spice notes of mace step in followed by eucalyptus undertones. Chocolate wraps up the notes with lengthy tannins.

Bottoms up!

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
