What a glorious surprise, especially for this price point for Bordeaux! Classic signature: black fruit, toasty oak, smoke, more dusty than fruity. Concentrated, deep and layered. Yes please! Decant 1-2 hours.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The 2005 Château Plaisance Cuvée Alix, composed of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, has intense aromas of anise, wood, dried pomegranate and cherry. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, aged wine; with forward acidity, dusty/drying tannins (decant for 1-2 hours) and a medium to long finish. It is a food friendly and sipping wine; as the fruit is drying out, drink now – 2016. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 89 pts – surprisingly tastes like Ontario’s Cabernet Franc dominated wines – recommended for its quality. Tasted Jan/14.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
