Reviews and Ratings

Trevor Sabourin - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

At six years old, this syrah (50%)/cabernet sauvignon (45%)/sangiovese (5%) blend has held out well and developed a pleasing amount of tobacco, leather, potpourri and earthy character. The fruit (dark cherry, blackberry, and red currant, all largely dried at this point) is perhaps just starting to fade. There are also notes of sage, black pepper, anise, vanilla, smoke, and black olive, with some cocoa emerging on the palate. This wine is medium in weight, with medium-high acidity and medium tannins which are very supple at this point. The finish is good length, and the balance is excellent. A savoury, elegant wine, but if you come across this vintage drink it up before it loses any more fruit. Tasted Aug. 2017.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
