Natalie's Score: 89/100

A mouth-watering, medium-plus-bodied Chianti Classico made for rich, tomato and pasta dishes. Smooth and mouth-filling with crushed berries and earthy florals, roasted nuts, dusty herbs and a lingering dark berry finish with well-integrated tannins. Delicious now, but can cellar for a few more years. Try it with pasta or ragu.

Chianti Classico food pairings: beef, mushroom risotto, blue cheeses on burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Tuscany wine region, Castelgreve Riserva 2015 Chianti Classico is full-bodied and mouth-watering with ripe and tart cherries, crushed berries, earthy florals and roasted nut flavours on the palate. Tannins are well-integrated. Pair with a meaty lasagne dish. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
