A full-bodied and intense single-vineyard Brunello di Montalcino with an Earthy, dark berry nose. Needs some cellaring time to show its best -- five years and should drink well for the next 10 years. Pair with rich, meaty dishes.

Brunello di Montalcino food pairings: vegetarian lasagne, prosciutto and hard cheese plate, rich tomato sauce and pasta.

Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A wine that will please any Brunello lover! Smokiness on the nose with a complex development on the palate: Notes of black cherries, cassis, star anise, complete with some mint and spice. Medium to full bodied wine - it has a rich feeling and good acid on the finish. Can age for 5 more years and become even more complex with the years, but also tastes great right now!
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Hints of hay, smoke and leather float over notes of red cherry and red fruit on the nose. It is full-bodied with concentrated fruit but still tightly wound. This holds much promise for things to come after another 2-3 years in the cellar. Tasted Nov 15, 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Caparzo La Casa 2013 is a full-bodied Brunello Di Montalcino with wine grapes sourced from the Tuscany Wine Region. Earthy violets, wild red, dark berry and smoky aromas on the nose, this robust red with firm tannins could benefit from five years in cellar to mellow and soften tannins. Pair with roast game dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
