Reviews and Ratings

Julian Park rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A crisp, dry rosé made from 100% Pinot Noir. Many BC Wineries have minimized the cost for Pinot Noir based rosés by using the cheaper grapes from young vines.  But not Black Market's Rosé. Rob has used the same grapes from mature vines that go into the premium Pinot Noir.  The elegance of this wine is the result of painstakingly delicate handling of the fruit. Hand picked, hand sorted, destemmed and lightly crushed, the grapes were transferred by hand into the press using 20-litre buckets. A light squeeze was followed by 7 hours of maceration on the skins to extract a perfect balance of colour and flavour. Only free-run juice made its way into this wine.

The vibrant nose has the aromas of strawberry, watermelon and raspberry.  On the palate, the entry is bright and juicy, dominated by raspberry, wild strawberry and rhubarb. Crisp acidity with only the slightest hint of sweetness, this wine finishes dry.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
